Meet your team...
Ken Freeman BE(Mech) MBA
I have owned and managed Thermal Bay P/L since 1989. Prior to starting
Thermal Bay, I was grounded in the technology of fire resistant laminates
as Chief Engineer of the Country Fire Authority (CFA). Apart
from specialty skills in phenolic laminates (for fire resistance), we have
a broad scope of manufacturing capabilities for many different
applications.
Another important member of the team is Mike Valentine, our
Business Development and Quality Assurance Manager. Mike's background in
developing and implementing ISO 9002 and the new ISO 9001/2000 Quality
System, ensures process clarity, dependability and accuracy along the way.
In addition, all our production staff are skilled and capable
tradesmen. Continual skills assessment and training are provided by
Thermal Bay and the Chisholm Institute of T.A.F.E. The benchmark baseline
for all our production staff is Certificate Level II Process Manufacturing
Composite Material.
The technical knowledge and expertise of our team, provides valuable
feedback and practical input during the design support stage. This ensures
any design problems are addressed early in the process and the end product
meets your ultimate requirements.
We will give you:
Design support at the concept stage,
Assistance with feasibility,
Help to bring "new" products to market.
Our knowledge and experience will add value to the end product
and get your ideas off the ground faster.
Above all we aim to be easy to do business with. We view your
clients as our customers also. Your success is our success. You're not
just a customer, you're a partner.
As a partner we offer high ethical standards, integrity and fair
and honest dealing at all times.

Accelerate the specification stage:
Amendments to designs can be swiftly communicated through email.
We use AutoCAD R14 and Solidworks Viewer program. Just send
your plans to us as an attachment to your email, and let us speed the
results to you.
Keep in touch with progress on your project:
Do you need verification of manufacturing progress but don't have time
to visit our site? On request we can e-mail you photographs of your
completed works at various stages of production.
Are we big enough?
Major engineering projects are our speciality. We are large enough to
handle major projects, and small enough to keep it personal. Our
substantial manufacturing site handles large production volumes with ease:
Total site - 10,100 sq metres
Hardstand - 3,800 sq metres
Manufacturing - 2,200 sq metres
What can we do?
Our specialties lie in fire resistant and ballistic rated laminates.
But we undertake a broad spectrum of work. So whether you want bench tops,
bus components, train and tram construction, fire vehicles, commercial
fittings, building panels, composite reinforced products, or any number of
applications that fiberglass and composite technology can be used for, we
can produce the results.
Thermal Bay Composites manufactures to the latest ISO 9001/2000
quality standards and is certified through
Benchmark. Thermal Bay is also a member of the following
